Kerr’s farm is 200 acres, 60 of which are used to grow fresh summer produce. The farm started growing sweet corn (its specialty) in 1991 to help supplement income. Over the years Kerr’s has expanded its offerings to include custom mixed planters and bedding plants in the spring and several varieties of vine-ripe tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, zucchini/squash, watermelon, cantaloupe and fresh cut flowers and herbs in the summer. Kerr’s practices Integrated Pest Management and markets the majority of its products through its roadside farm stand.
