Program Details
Is the produce local?
Of course! We support local farmers and work with farms in the NJ, PA and NY area. Both Just Farmed and Flipside Farm feature local, organic and sustainably farmed produce because it is fresher and requires less (or no!) fuel to transport.
Do I have to commit to a subscription period?
You will either receive a delivery each week, however there is no obligation. You can cancel or opt out at any time. We only ask that you give us notice a week ahead of time so we can adjust our harvest, farm orders and routes. You also have the option to “opt out” if you are out of town. This needs to be done during the ordering period every week (Wednesday 3pm through Friday at noon for the following week). Additionally, we do not deliver the weeks of July 4th, Labor Day/Late August and Thanksgiving week (see our full schedule on the delivery dates page for exact dates).
What if I need to leave for vacation?
You can always “skip a week” if you are away. Additionally, if you’d like an alternate delivery address or pick up arrangement (perhaps a friend or neighbor) it’s no problem to adjust where your box is dropped off or who picks up your share. If you need to make special arrangements just let us know and we are happy to accommodate your needs.
Where do we deliver?
Just Farmed delivers to families in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Click here to see the list of towns and delivery days. We are adding new towns all the time.
If you are located outside these areas we would love to accommodate you as well. Just send us an email at contactus@justfarmed.com
What if I’m not home or you can’t access my front door?
No problem! Just Farmed customers can coordinate by emailing contactus@justfarmed.com. We can also deliver to your work, friend or neighbor’s address. Also, your delivery comes in a box that will stay cool for some time. So if you are delayed for a little bit your food will remain intact.
How long will produce maintain freshness?
Each delivery and/or pick up should last a minimum of 3-5 days, if not longer. Storage tips to help keep your produce fresh for the week are located here on our website (and really do work!).
How does the service work?
Our turnaround time from farm to table is quick as we want as little time between harvest and delivery as possible. Our members will receive a weekly box chilled with ice mats of farm fresh produce on your delivery day based on your town. Each week we ask you to leave out your ice mat for collection and recycle your own box.
What type of produce will I receive?
At Zone 7, our goal is to provide locally grown fruits and vegetables that are from organic and/or sustainable farms. We always choose locally first, then certified organic and then move to sustainable/IPM/conventional if there are items we’d like to feature that are not available in the organic form. Organic means the harvest has not been processed or grown using synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. The food also could not have been produced using genetic engineering, growth hormones, irradiation or antibiotics. Farms must have been free from chemical use for at least three years and subject to inspection before being certified organic, and must undergo frequent soil tests. Crops must also be rotated, which is that the same crop is not grown on the same plot of land year after year. These farms will be our first choice, however, in order to provide a good variety it might be necessary to move to a sustainable product. We will make the best selections based on each farms practices.
